Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has signed new deportation regulations, effective August 28.

The updated rules apply to foreign nationals involved in offences such as illegal entry, unauthorized employment or business activities, document forgery, and serious criminal conduct.

The regulations also introduce clearer procedures for deportation or transfer to third countries. Authorities must consider cases in which individuals may face a risk of torture, inhumane or degrading treatment, or enforced disappearancein the destination country.

The new framework aims to strengthen Thailand’s immigration enforcement while establishing safeguards for deportation cases involving serious human-rights concerns.
